    Dragon Age: Origins

So they've released another DLC for DAO called The Darkspawn Chronicles. Again it's nothing very substantial, but at least it's unique in that you play as the darkspawn invading Denerim. It's kinda fun holding other darkspawn in thrall and then killing a bunch of the main characters. The final battle where we have to successfully defend the archdemon from Alistair, Morrigan, Barkspawn, & Leliana on top of the tower at fort draken is fun. But in all it's rather a letdown.

The first 3 DLC released were great, The Stone Prisoner, the Wardens Keep, and even Return to Ostagar was good as long as you brought along Alistair. The Feast-day DLC was a waste of time & money.

On the bright side though the next DLC looks like it could be one of the best ones yet. Leliana's Song let's you assume the role of Leliana and play through the storyline she talked about in the game, where she became entangled with Marjoliane and betrayed to the Orlesian government and imprisoned. Can't wait for this one.

I also started one more playthrough of the game as a male human noble. I intend to figure out how to side with the werewolves, for the end game, as well as the goloms, & templar, and marry Anora so I can become King of Fereldon. Should be a fun ending to see. I might have to send Alistair to his death though, depending on how the Morrigan tryst goes, but I'd kinda like to keep him around if I can. Maybe I can convince him to impregnate Morrigan.

This DLC is really weak... the darkspawn are the least interesting thing about DA and why I don't consider it a BG2 successor. Irenicus was a pretty typical villain, but he was a magnificent bastard (with an awesome VA). That's exactly what DA was lacking. A villain that made it personal. I don't count Loghain... felt like a sidequest, not a focus of mine.

I'll be interested to see the Leliana DLC... I'm surprised the first thing they did wasn't to explore backstory to some of the NPCs with DLC. There is a lot of potential to change the main game experience by letting us see the past.

Well it's a lot better than the feast day stuff, which I see is now free, but I had to pay for when it came out. I must admit the new sword at least looks cool.

Loghain is even less of an asshole anyways after you decide to run out Alistair and recruit Loghain you can get a chance to talk with him and understand why he did what he did. It kind of softens him. I'd agree though that a real jerk of a villain is what this game needs and lacks.

Perhaps we'll see Oghren's past next if this one gets over with the fans. I suppose most of the party members have interesting pasts, save for Morrigan. However a snippet into the future with her could be very nice and wouldn't necessarily infringe upon what is likely going to take place in the sequel.

I was disappointed in the spell system for mages. It looks cool graphically, the firestorms, etc... but bring me back the plethora of spells Baldur's Gate offered. Where's my Time Stop, my Elemental summoning spells, wards, Power Words, etc... ??? I did not like being forced down a skill line. I miss summoning Avatars

Leliana's Song has been released, but I haven't bought it yet. Has anyone else tried it yet?
